Arby’s is Going Vegetarian on Leap Day
On February 29, Arby’s menu will look a little different. That’s because the brand is introducing a one-day-only vegetarian-friendly menu at the chain’s 3,400 locations nationwide. The vegetarian Leap Day menu will consist of the same items on Arby’s standard menu—sans meat. The prices for the sandwiches will not change, and meat-filled sandwiches will still be available. This is fun way to show that non-meat eaters and meat-eaters alike can enjoy a meal together with some curly fries.

New York Court Upholds State’s Sodium labeling
The salt labels noting high-sodium foods are here to stay—well, in New York at least. The New York State Supreme Court ruled that chain restaurants with more than 15 locations nationwide could be fined after March 1 for failing to post sodium warnings on certain menu items. The city’s Board of Health ruled last September, that chain restaurants must print a salt-shaker warning icon next to menu items containing 2,300 or more milligrams of salt. This is meant to make New Yorkers aware of the link between excessive salt and high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.

McDonald’s Raising Price of ‘McPick 2’
Fans of the Golden Arches will no longer be able to enjoy the budget priced “McPick 2 for $2” promotion. McDonald’s has announced the new promotion, which will offer the McPick 2 with more premium ingredients like the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder and Filet-O-Fish, for $5 per order. While the “McPick 2 for $2” promotion was only intended for a limited-time promotion, the new menu pricing will boost the average check for the national chain.

Jersey Mike’s Prepares for 6th Annual “Month of Giving”
This March, Jersey Mike’s is asking customers to dine at their locations for the brand’s sixth annual “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign. The sub shop chain is partnering with 180 local charities—that is 30 more charities from the previous year. Last year Jersey Mike’s raised $3 million for charity, and this year the brand hopes to raise over $3.5 million to help local charities. On March 30, 2016, on Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” 100 percent of the day’s sales will be donated to the local partner charity.

Domino’s Q4 Same-Stores Sales Rise 10.7%
On February 25, Domino’s Pizza Inc. stock hit an all-time high after reporting a domestic same-store sales increase of 10.7 percent in the fourth quarter. This is the seventh consecutive year of positive same-store sales growth for the company, and it’s helping franchisees generate record profits according to Domino’s.
