Paril Patel and his nephew Nick have been franchisee partners for the past six years, and in that time, they’ve built a small empire of hotel franchises from Texas to Arkansas. Now, the duo is expanding their portfolio with a new kind of hospitality franchise, or as 810 Billiards and Bowling puts it, an “eatertainment” franchise.

Nick Patel says the emerging, six-unit franchise, which offers an upscale and full-service twist on the classic bowling alley concept, is the perfect business opportunity for the team’s local market of Sugar Land, Texas.

“There is nothing like this in our market,” Nick said. “Sugar Land is a very family-friendly town, and it’s growing quickly. There is a lot of demand for entertainment, and 810 has something to offer everyone.”

Indeed, one might argue that the name 810 Billiards and Bowling sells the brand short. When the Patels open their location later this year, it will feature, like all 810 locations, not just billiards and bowling but also live music, a full-service bar and kitchen, a bustling arcade and even mini-golf.

That glut of entertainment options will allow the Patels to cater to a range of demographics and make their 810 location a social hub for their community.

“We’re going to become a go-to spot for birthday parties, family nights — just about everything,” Paril said.

As the Patels prepare to expand and diversify their franchise portfolio, Nick says the pair was not initially seeking another franchise opportunity, but when 810 caught their eye, they decided it was an opportunity too lucrative to pass up.

“We weren't out there looking for another franchise brand to buy into,” he said. “When we discovered 810, we thought it was an incredible business, so we started looking into the numbers, and we were intrigued. The concept is so sophisticated. It’s not like the bowling alleys you are used to. It looks fresh. It’s modern and fun.”

The Patels reached out to 810’s corporate team and quickly embarked on a validation process that Paril says confirmed their optimism about the brand at every step.

“The people on the team are fantastic, and the more we learned, the more we loved,” he said. “When we went to the grand opening of a new 810 location in Downtown Houston, we were blown away by how great the launch was.”

Today, the Patels are working closely with 810’s corporate team to select the optimal real estate for their location. But they are still afforded the flexibility to focus on their existing portfolio of franchise businesses.

“The corporate team is providing a lot of support so we can be relatively hands-off,” Nick said. “In addition to site selection, they are helping us evaluate managers and staff for the location — they’re even guiding us through the interview process, then we can say Yes or No to any candidate they send to us.”

As 810 Billiards and Bowling prepares to launch its first location in Sugar Land with the Patels, CEO Michael Siniscalchi says the franchisee team is well-equipped to help the brand reach its full potential in the market.

“We have a proven model that we know can work just about anywhere, and as we introduce our brand to new audiences, it’s critical that we make a great first impression,” he said. “Nick and Paril have an incredible history of success in the franchise world, so we couldn’t ask for a better team of operators to ensure we get a strong start in this new market.”

The initial investment to franchise with 810 Billiards & Bowling ranges from $1.8 to $3million, including a $50,000 franchise fee. The brand is actively seeking franchise owners in markets across the U.S. For more information on franchising with 810 Billiards & Bowling, please visit 810bowling.com/franchising.
