Facing increased competition, Amazon has elected to shutter its restaurant delivery service in London after two years of operation, according to a TechCrunch article. The news was first reported by UK outlet the Evening Standard and later confirmed by an Amazon spokesperson.

Customers of Amazon Restaurants UK received an email notifying them of the change, effective December 3rd. The service, which was expanded to London in September 2016 after a successful test in Seattle, covered most parts of the city and gave customers access to 200 different restaurants.

The Evening Standard article explained Amazon was combating the likes of other delivery services, like London-based Deliveroo and Uber Eats, which likely contributed to its decision to end the service in the city. TechCrunch noted Amazon’s service is still running in the U.S. with no changes apparent.
