Previously confined to eCommerce shops and specialty stores, CBD&mdash;a non-psychoactive compound derived from cannabis&mdash;has disrupted the retail industry. Many of these specialty stores, including CBD American Shaman and CBD Plus USA, offer franchise opportunities for entrepreneurs looking to invest in the hot commodity. Now, however, CBD&rsquo;s rapidly-growing popularity is entering the mainstream retail and restaurant scene. Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid have all recently added CBD products to their roster at select locations.&nbsp;

There is currently no federal age restriction on the use of CBD, but The Food and Drug Administration suggests there are still questions about the product&rsquo;s safety.&nbsp;

As CBD products begin finding their way onto the shelves of popular retailers such as American Eagle, concerned adults have challenged whether these products should come with an age restriction. <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/23/american-eagle-exec-says-there-shouldnt-be-an-age-restriction-on-cbd.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=american-eagles-partnership-with-cbd-producer-spurns-complaints-from-concerned-parents-2710565" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">According to CNBC</a>, global brand president Chad Kessler urged that the products the store will offer following its recent partnership with Green Growth Brands are completely safe and need no age restriction. &ldquo;We know that not everybody&rsquo;s going to be excited about it, but we do intend to do a lot of education to ease the concerns that parents or customers might have,&rdquo; said Kessler.
