FAIR OAKS, CA — Anchored Tiny Homes, the California-based accessory dwelling unit (ADU) building franchise, has had a remarkable 2023. Awarding over a territory per week, the franchise rounded out the year with 61 total territories signed, breaking into key markets like Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah and Texas. In the fourth quarter alone, the franchise awarded 27 new territories to four franchisees, surpassing its previous goal to award 50 territories by the end of 2023. After seeing such great momentum in 2023, the brand has forged additional partnerships in the industry to propel its 2024 expansion even further.

“We’re just ecstatic about the success we’ve seen this year,” said Colton Paulhus, co-founder and CEO. “Anchored Tiny Homes has exploded with 61 new territories awarded, and we’re now focused on getting all 61 launched as we continue to expand with new owners in new markets.”

In the fourth quarter, Anchored Tiny Homes also launched with four new franchisees in Rhode Island; St. George, Utah; Bend, Oregon; and Boise, Idaho, bringing the system’s total territory count to 12.

As its footprint has grown, its revenue has followed. The brand’s most recent Franchise Disclosure Document shows $88 million in revenue secured by corporate outlets over the span of 12 months*, an indicator of the demand that still remains in the market.

Laying the groundwork for its continued expansion, Anchored Tiny Homes welcomed Chris Pace, who comes from one of the largest homebuilders in the world, as its new Vice President of Operations. Pace will focus on ensuring all franchisee support playbooks and operational processes are prepared to support the growing network, honing resources for existing owners and creating a foundation for the brand to continue its exponential growth in a healthy way.

To address the ongoing need for housing in markets across the U.S., Paulhus says the brand is looking to award 150 new territories this year. Houston, Portland, Miami, Dallas, New York City, Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh have all been recognized by the leadership team as prime markets for Anchored Tiny Homes franchises, but Paulhus noted that the need for affordable housing exists everywhere, and he encourages entrepreneurs in any ADU-friendly market to reach out and discuss opportunities.

“As a young brand at the ground level of a growing industry, I could not be more proud of the progress we made last year,” said Paulhus. “Quite a bit happened in 2023, and I’m excited to ride that momentum through this year. With real estate market conditions continuing to change, it’s prime time for entrepreneurs to break into the industry with an investment opportunity that allows them to make meaningful changes for themselves and their neighbors.”
