Job growth may not be showing super strength, but it’s at least steady, according to The Associated Press.

The news source reported the U.S. economy added 223,000 jobs during April, helping to lower the unemployment rate to 5.4 percent, based on data from the Labor Department. This marks the lowest rate of unemployment since May 2008.

This news comes at an ideal time, as the first quarter of 2015 was less than stellar in terms of U.S. economic recovery.

Franchises are seeing their fair share of job growth, with Pita Pit’s franchise, U.S. President Corey Bowman telling the AP his company is hiring and expanding, and doing so without having to pay higher wages.

"I haven't noticed any change in terms of what you have to pay to get people," Bowman said.
