Franchising offers a unique opportunity to own a business without needing to be an expert in the industry. With a love for the product and the staunch support of the brand, an entrepreneur can quickly learn the ropes and succeed. That’s what made joining Atomic Wings so appealing to Sandeep Mukhi, a new franchisee who just signed on to open the franchise’s first West Coast locations in California.

I am a big-time foodie,” said Mukhi, who previously worked as a toxicologist for a pesticide company, making sure products met regulatory requirements. “I love food and I’ve had a dream of creating a restaurant and serving people. I love chicken and grilling and I find cooking to be stress-relieving for me.”

He divulged that the idea of wings came when he and his daughter made it a routine to go get them during the pandemic and noticed people would wait in long lines for the delicious food. Mukhi started to think about how they are a staple food.

“There's a huge demand in the Bay Area for chicken wings, so I started inquiring about and had an interest in opening a restaurant.,” he noted.

And that’s exactly what he is doing. Mukhi invested with Atomic Wings, which is currently only open on the East Coast in 19 locations, but quickly growing. He signed for three locations, one of which will be in San Ramon, on the eastern side of the Bay Area. He is still scouting real estate for the other two locations. Mukhi’s San Ramon location will also be the first in the system to offer the brand’s newest menu offering, grilled wings.

Mukhi explained he connected with New York-based Atomic Wings through a friend’s referral. He heard about the brand’s plan to expand nationally, and thought it was an excellent opportunity for himself to spearhead the West Coast expansion. But first, he needed to make sure the wings were good. “I know what great wings will taste like, and after the visit, I said, ‘This product will sell here. There's huge demand.’ I love the product,” he continued.

Besides the delicious menu, Mukhi says the other reason he is set up for success is the support and involvement from Atomic Wings CEO Zack Omar. “He's been very helpful and supportive from the beginning. The support so far has more than met my expectations,” he said.

Omar said he is extremely excited about the company’s new California endeavors. "We couldn't be more excited to bring the first Atomic Wings locations to California alongside Sandeep. We're confident that the demand for chicken wings is strong in the Bay Area, and we're looking forward to introducing new customers to our brand. We're confident that Atomic Wings will soon be a household name," he added.

The total investment necessary to begin the operation of an Atomic Wings restaurant is $155,900 to $338,500. The total investment necessary to begin the operation of a multi-unit developer business for a required minimum of three Atomic Wings franchises is $197,900 to $381,000.
