Taco Bell opened its first Australian restaurant in Brisbane last November, and so far, sales are several million dollars higher than a typical unit. That&rsquo;s why the brand is now working with its franchisee in the country to fuel rapid growth. In an interview quoted by Bloomberg, Liz Williams, Taco Bell International&rsquo;s president, said, &ldquo;We&rsquo;re talking to them about some pretty explosive growth. It&rsquo;s going to be a top market for us.&rdquo;

What positions Taco Bell for rapid growth in international markets is a lack of Mexican food options outside of the U.S. In Australia, for example, the brand sells California burritos, quesadillas and nachos as well as beer and margaritas.
