Bo Jackson: The 1851 Exclusive Interview Part 4

In order for Bo Jackson to achieve his star status as a professional football and baseball player — and now entrepreneur — he had to hustle. Being known as the best of the best isn’t something that can happen without putting in effort. However, that need to grind and work hard is something that isn’t necessarily as urgent for the youngest generation of American workers.

In the fourth part of Jackson’s exclusive 10-part interview series with 1851 Franchise, Jackson said, “For some odd reason, this generation thinks that, ‘Well, I’m gonna go to high school, I’m gonna go to college, have four fun years, I’m gonna get out, where I’m gonna get a get a big job sitting behind a desk, and wear a suit in an air-conditioned office and do nothing. And I’m gonna make a boatload of money.’ It’s not gonna happen.”

For those who are willing to put in the work, Jackson has a piece of advice. He added, “The thing that I say, especially to young people, is don’t take your education for granted. Let your brain become a sponge and absorb as much as you can because you’re going to need it down the road.”
