Burger King Gets Spooky This Halloween; Launches ‘Ghost Whopper’ in Partnership With a ‘Ghost Whisperer’

Okay, so you re-read Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (or watched it because it’s a feature film now) for the 100th time, designed your zombie Halloween costume and watched every single thing on Huluween—so what’s left for you do this spooky season?

Eat a BK Ghost Whopper, that’s what!

According to QSR, Burger King has just launched its Ghost Whopper; that is, a spin on the traditional whopper, made with spectral-white buns and taste-tested by spirits themselves. The BK brand partnered with Riz Mirza, an internationally-known psychic medium, to test the burger on spirits inhabiting the Alexandria Hotel in Los Angeles. 

The Alexandria Hotel is known for paranormal sightings as it has a “very energetic imprint” from the souls who have died there, which made it the perfect place to conduct a “spiritual” taste test for the Ghost Whopper, according to Mirza. 

In front of a live audience, the souls were able to taste test BK’s infamous burger, and according to Mirza, in the brief moments they were on Earth, the spirits gave mixed reviews; “It’s beyond belief to experience this taste,” said one. “It’s filth!,” said another. 

Living participants also gave mixed reviews about the experience; “It was interesting to see what we could learn from the spirits,” one participant said. “It’s all b***s***!,” said another. 

Ghost and participant reviews aside, BK’s Ghost Whopper will be available for a limited time at 10 select restaurants across the country beginning on October 24, for a suggested retail price of $4.59. 

The Ghost Whopper sandwich is a quarter-pound of flamed-grilled beef topped with tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles and sliced white onions. 

And, as of last week, you can now Uber Eats your BK Ghost Whopper straight to your front door.
