Cameo Is Going B2B

The celebrity shout-out platform is tapping into a growing demand from businesses.

Franchisors looking to add a little star power to their discovery days are in luck. Celebrity shout-out platform Cameo announced its first B2B partnership last week, striking a deal with “sending platform” Sendoso, a company that delivers direct mail, eGifts and other “Personalized Impressions™ at scale,” according to the brand’s website.

The partnership will allow businesses to send personalized celebrity messages to customers, prospects and vendors.

According to The Hustle, Cameo is preparing to launch two other B2B offerings in addition to the Sendoso partnership: “Promo Cameo” and “Brand Partnerships.”

Promo Cameo: Talent can be booked to endorse brands. “Let’s say a normal Snoop Dogg greeting is $900,” says Leopold. “For $7.5k, he’ll do a shoutout for a local car dealership or pizza joint.”

Brand Partnerships: Full campaigns that Cameo helps manage. For instance, Activision hired gaming personality Captain Price to do 400 fan shoutouts for a new game release.

Cameo’s potential B2B applications are broad enough that we are sure to see some creative implementations from brands as the new products roll out. Time will tell just how effective a celebrity shout-out can be in, say, signing a new franchisee or elevating local marketing.
