CDC: Stay Away from Romaine Lettuce
An E. coli outbreak has the CDC warning consumers to avoid romaine lettuce.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued a warning to consumers, telling them to stay away from romaine lettuce due to an E. coli outbreak, according to a CNN report.
The outbreak has affected 32 people in 11 states - California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Wisconsin - and the CDC advised restaurants and retailers to avoid distributing it, according to the article.
"This advice includes all types or uses of romaine lettuce, such as whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine, and bags and boxes of precut lettuce and salad mixes that contain romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix, and Caesar salad," the CDC said in the announcement, according to CNN.
