CNBC: Pizza Hut to Hire 3,000 New Delivery Drivers Every Month for the Rest of the Year

By the end of 2017, Pizza Hut plans to hire 14,000 new delivery drivers.

Pizza Hut is going on a hiring spree for the rest of this year. According to a recent CNBC article, the pizza chain will be hiring around 3,000 delivery drivers each month and hoping to hit 14,000 by the end of 2017. Along with new hires, the brand is introducing new technology to improve the delivery process for customers and keep them updated on how long the delivery will take.

"This is about accuracy and consistency, giving our customers a trusted experience," said Nicolas Burquier, chief operating officer at Pizza Hut.

This announcement comes only a few months after Yum Brands announced its plans to invest $130 million in improving restaurant technology, upgrading equipment and increasing its advertising spend. Having a stronger digital presence will be key for the chain to compete with rival Domino’s.
