Crain's Dallas: Best In Class Education Center Plans Dallas Expansion

The supplemental education center franchise has found success in Texas.

Best in Class Education Center has been growing rapidly across the U.S., but has recently turned to Texas as a focus for expansion, gearing up to open the third North Texas location at the beginning of January. The brand has already seen success developing the Houston market where they currently have seven open locations.

“I think Dallas can grow as fast as Houston,” Best In Class Education CEO Hao Lam said in an interview with Crain's Dallas. “I plan to add four or five more in the next couple years.”

The opening in January will add 12 part-time jobs to the economy for teachers and graduate students looking for experience and a little extra cash. Courses at the center are focused on moving children ahead rather than helping those who may have fallen behind.

“The majority are younger and have a solid foundation,” Lam said to Crain's Dallas reporter Nicholas Sakelaris. “They are doing well in school but want to be prepared and do better.”

Allen franchise owner Priya Venkat opened the first location in the market and expanded into Frisco earlier this year. With a high density of schools in Frisco, Venkat felt she would help fill a void for parents seeking a great program for their students.

“They are happy that we tutor the kids instead of just handing them their paperwork,” Venkat said in her interview with Crain's Dallas. “We actually teach the kids. They are trying to do more than what the school can challenge them to do.”
