Dippin’ Dots, maker of iconic flash-frozen ice cream treats, and Doc Popcorn, the world’s largest franchisor of fresh-popped popcorn, introduced a new prototype for a dual-brand kiosk in early November. Dippin’ Dots acquired Doc Popcorn last year and this new kiosk is the second step of their integration so to expand their brand.

This is not the first time the two brands have opened a dual-brand site before. A dual-concept store opened in Springfield, Missouri in June 2015 and is operated by a husband and wife team. The two brands must have thought if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it as the kiosk is also run by a husband and wife team, Stephanie and Rob Todd. The kiosk is located in the South Premium Outlets Mall in Las Vegas and is the first entry into Las Vegas for Doc Popcorn.

“We’re planning to bring two additional locations to the area in the near future and eventually bring our son into the business,” Rob Todd said.

Along with the dual-concept store, executives from each company believe these new services for customers are major milestones for continued success. The co-branding gives the franchises each an opportunity to promote their brands and the single-brand as well.

“Response to the first Doc Popcorn/Dippin’ Dots store in Springfield, Missouri has been fantastic” Doc Popcorn co-founder Rob Israel said. “People really love the combination of offerings. It’s obvious that the two snacks complement each other and perform well in the same space.”
