Alexander Tuneski has joined DLA Piper’s franchise and distribution practice in Washington, D.C. Most recently he was counsel in the franchise practice at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP. Tuneski has been recognized with several franchise law distinctions the past several years, including the Chair’s Future Leader Award in 2012 from the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising. Last year, he was named a 2013 Washington, D.C. “Rising Star” in the area of franchise and dealership law by Super Lawyers magazine. Tuneski was also recognized as a Franchise Times magazine “Legal Eagle,” an honor reserved for top franchise lawyers in the United States and Canada. “Alexander brings a remarkable breadth of experience to the firm, having worked in virtually every area of franchise and distribution law, with companies at every stage of growth in numerous industries,” Rich Greenstein, chair of DLA Piper’s franchise and distribution practice, said in a statement. “As more and more franchises and distributors look to enter the global marketplace, Alexander’s experience in the international arena, as well as his knowledge of transactional, corporate and trademark law, will be an invaluable resource to our burgeoning practice group.” DLA Piper has more than 4,200 attorneys located in more than 30 countries.
