In November of last year, Tracey Norris opened the doors to his two territories of ecomaids, the 100-plus-unit environmentally friendly home cleaning company, in Florida. He serves the South and West Jacksonville, Orange Park and Fleming Island areas, offering top-notch home cleaning services for residents of the communities.

In his six months since opening, Norris has already had great success. The former teacher and construction business owner has already signed on about 60 recurring customers for service and has seen 30% increases in revenue month-to-month over the last three months. He says people in the area like that the cleaning company is eco-conscious.

“People in Florida are often more sensitive to environmental factors because of the wetlands here and the impacts directly made on the environment and wildlife levels,” Norris said. “So they appreciate the service. I think the trend is moving in that direction where people have a greater appreciation for using products that they know are not just made for them but for the planet.”

The ecomaids ideals are part of what attracted him to the company as well. Norris said he was “big into recycling, ready to get solar panels on [his] house, and wanted to save the planet.” So when a franchise broker told him and his wife about ecomaids, they thought it was a great fit.

“To me, it just makes sense to invest in the option that's going to produce less harm, especially when the price is competitive. I really think that's a big separator,” said Norris.

He said that while starting with the residential cleaning industry has a learning curve, the corporate team at ecomaids has provided ongoing support. Norris went to Portland last year for a week of training, where he received a “firehose of information.”

“The fact that there are so many tools out there to help is a big plus. There is so much to learn and the ecomaids team offers a lot of resources. They've offered quite a bit of support,” said Norris.

“For ecomaids, we have some great franchisees in the system, and they’re all really dedicated to growing the brand in their local markets with integrity,” said Sharon Cupach, senior director of franchise development for ecomaids. “We’ve quickly become the fastest-growing cleaning concept in franchising. So that’s something we’re very proud to say.”

In addition to the support Norris receives from ecomaids’ corporate team, the support that Norris is in turn able to provide to clients is one of his favorite parts of the job. Occasionally his team will clean out a home, and the property owner has tears in their eyes when he leaves.

“It’s very rewarding,” said Norris. “Some people have been in really bad situations where they need some help, and we make a dramatic difference for them.”

The total investment necessary to open an ecomaids franchise ranges from $110,990-$136,379. For more information on franchising opportunities with ecomaids, visit https://ecomaidsfranchise.com/.
