Fast Casual Most Popular Online Ordering Option: Grubhub Report
Grubhub released a report on food and online ordering trends in 2018.
Grubhub released its annual Year in Food report, which found that 40 percent of customers ordered online from fast-casual establishments, 32 percent from quick-service restaurants and 24 percent from casual dining spots, according to a Fast Casual report.
The report, which analyzed Grubhub’s 16 million orders placed in 2018, also looked into reasons for ordering online and found that “Didn’t feel like cooking” was the top reason, according to the article.
And when it comes to late-night grub, it looks like people mostly want spicy food. Stuffed jalapenos, for example, had 169 percent more orders in 2018, according to the article.
Foods that saw the most growth in popularity included bean burritos, poke, cauliflower rice bowls and chicken and waffle sliders, according to the article.
