Fast-food workers prepare for Tax Day strike tomorrow
Fight for $15 campaign builds momentum as April 15 nears.
While much of the country knows April 15 as the Tax Day deadline, fast-food workers in more than 200 U.S. cities across the country will use it in an attempt to gain higher wages.
Nationwide strikes and protests are scheduled for tomorrow as part of the Fight for $15 movement.
According to a report by the UC Berkeley Labor Center, more than 52 percent of fast-food employees rely on public assistance such as Medicaid and SNAP benefits to survive.
Tomorrow’s protests will also include #BlackLivesMatter advocates who want to merge the racial and economic justice movements together.
