After a year of continued development, Footprints Floors, the 160-plus territory flooring franchise, is in great shape to take on 2024. Last year, the brand added 15 new territories through 12 franchise agreements, saw system-wide revenue increases, boosted internal efficiencies and resources for franchisees, and even launched a new product line that was specifically designed with the Footprints Floors business model in mind. Now, the system is primed to further increase revenue and drive expansion in California and the Northeast this year.

“We had a fantastic year last year, especially considering our circumstances,” explained Bryan Park, founder and CEO of Footprints Floors. “Residential construction declined drastically last year, and a lot of people in the industry that I spoke to saw declines of about 30% in their businesses. We saw national revenue increases this year despite the residential construction industry being down, and that’s a huge victory.”

Park further explained that this growth, as well as the brand’s expansion into Seattle, San Jose and San Francisco, is a testament to the business model and the flexibility of the system.

“When the going gets tough, we adapt,” he added.

System-Wide and Community Development Throughout 2023

Last year, Footprints Floors launched optional Power Pack training weeks for franchisees to learn more about a specific product or process. The team hosted two different week-long training sessions where franchisees convened in a given city for in-depth hands-on training regarding relevant industry trends or technical skills. Feedback from franchisees indicated that owners found great value in these opportunities, and Park said the team plans to double Power Pack opportunities in 2024 in response to their incredible success.

As Footprints Floors worked to develop its existing owners, it also teamed up with industry giant Revel Woods to roll out the Footprints Collection, a premier product line designed with the Footprints Floors business model in mind. The product line was well-received in the early months, and Park predicts strong, continued growth for the Footprints Collection this year.

Finally, Footprints Floors continued to reach out to its communities through the First Fruits Fund. Park believes that everyone benefits from community connection and give-back efforts, and with the launch of the First Fruits Fund, he committed to donate a percentage of the company’s profits to community nonprofits that align with the team’s values. As revenue climbed in 2023, contributions from the First Fruits Fund followed.

Progress Throughout 2023 Positions Footprints Floors Well for 2024 Success

Throughout the year, Footprints Floors consistently exceeded industry standards, defying market circumstances while continuing to drive internal growth. With this, Park said the team is in a great position to achieve its goal of a 10% system-wide revenue increase in 2024 and further expansion in California and throughout the Northeast.

In the early months of this year, the brand will be expanding its C-suite through internal promotions, launching nine new marketing initiatives and hosting its 2024 convention with a focus on efficiency in the business.

“Bringing in new members to the executive staff and launching nine new marketing sources are two major steps for us. We will have a robust team in place to continue supporting business development as franchise owners gain access to even more resources,” said Park. “We got really efficient with what the market gave us this year, so when the market starts to turn around and we remain as efficient as we were last year, we’re going to see a gigantic jump in our revenue and profitability. We’re right on the threshold of big things.”

In addition to California expansion, Footprints Floors’ Northeastern growth efforts are focused on Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware.
