Footprints Floors' Rob Ricco Shares Floor Trends for 2020
Ricco was featured on WRAL-TV, Raleigh, NC where he provided expert flooring insights.
Spring brings change. Zillow states the best time to place your home on the market is in the spring. The springtime is also when the majority of homeowners start their home renovations. With the warm weather around the corner, flooring expert Rob Ricco shared from his experience and knowledge on which floors are the best investments for longevity and resale value.
According to Ricco, hardwood floors are the best flooring. The National Wood Flooring Associations states 99% of real estate agents say homes with hardwood sell easier than homes without (Homelight, 2018). Hardwood is resilient compared to most flooring, like carpeting or vinyl making it perfect for children or high traffic areas. Hardwood can be easier to be repaired which is part of the reason CNN reports hardwood floors to increase the value of homes by three to five percent (Simple Showings, 2019)
For the same reason as hardwood flooring, tile flooring is also good for sustainability. The tricky part of the tile is that it is very trend-based. When picking a tile it is best to analyze the floor space. The bigger space, the bigger tiles you should use, which is why bathrooms tend to have tiny tiles and kitchens use larger.
Ricco’s final tip is to just ask the professional if you are unsure what is best for your home project. Footprints Floors was named “Best of Home Advisor” Winner in 2018 due to their unparalleled service and knowledge (1851Franchise, 2019). Ricco and the Footprints Floors team has been trained extensively to help homeowners find the best flooring based on the area, home, traffic level, and price.
