Regardless of the industry that franchisees invest in, there’s one thing that’s consistent across the board: local owners view breaking into the industry as a smart move for their entire family. And according to a recent article in Forbes, there’s evidence to back that claim up. The 2017 State of Independence Report found that 74 percent of independent workers were satisfied with their choice, marking the highest level seen in the seven years since the report first began.

Beyond that statistic, Forbes notes that there are other reasons why investing in a franchise is a good move for the entire family. For starters, a family business teaches responsibility—even at a young age.  Business owners also have the ability to control their own work-life balance, and family businesses are able to be more involved in their local communities. Owning a franchise also creates a legacy, which can then be passed down through generations.
