Accelerated Waste Solutions (AWS) is a leading provider of valet trash pickup and bulk junk removal services. AWS was initially established in Tampa, Florida in 2008 under the name Tampa Bay Trash by founders Fred Tomlin, Jr. and Sherrod Hunter. The brand was renamed to AWS in 2010. By 2020, AWS began offering franchise opportunities across the country.

Since its inception, the brand has grown to service over 20,000 apartment complexes in more than 20 states.

How Many AWS Locations Are There?

As of November 2023, there are more than 30 AWS franchises located throughout the country.

What Is the Business Model for AWS?

AWS operates two business models, including Doorstep Details, which is a leading apartment-focused valet trash and recycling brand, and Junk Shot, which is this brand’s innovative bulk trash hauling business. The brand describes its business model as being “scalable and sticky, as our customers contract with us once, but pay us for years, leading to lucrative, long-term relationships.”

Through Doorstep Details, AWS provides five-day-per-week apartment and condo doorstep trash and recycling collection services that are supported by smartphone technology. Customers can receive before-and-after photos of service, building pickup confirmations, and arrival and departure times. Junk Shot provides consumers with a fast and affordable way to remove bulk junk. It allows users to take a photo of their bulk junk, and then receive a quick quote and potential pickup time.

Prospective franchisees are not required to have any prior industry experience. Instead, AWS provides all the necessary training in order to run a successful business.

“Because the services are easy to understand, easy to manage and easy to sell, this is a turnkey business opportunity that allows entrepreneurs to focus on their strengths: building relationships and networking in their communities to drive sales,” the brand wrote.

AWS lists the following benefits to operating one of its franchises:

  • Access to industry leaders who will offer ongoing mentoring and coaching
  • On-the-job training
  • Comprehensive training, including establishing a business plan and setting realistic goals
  • Patented apps that make billing easy, as well as create immediate trust with your customers
  • State-of-the-art equipment
  • In the case of Junk Shot, the biggest trucks in the industry
  • Industry-leading branding and marketing materials
  • Access to existing national client relationships from AWS, for trusted credibility
  • Instant revenue gain by taking over existing national accounts to help you jumpstart your business
