BrightStar Care is a full-service health care staffing agency and franchise that provides medical and non-medical home care to private clients. Clients range from infants to seniors, as well as supplemental health care staff to corporate clients.

The franchise works to understand the needs of its clients and provides a customized care plan to match them with a qualified, pre-screened caregiver who is compatible with their needs.

How Many BrightStar Care Locations Are There?

BrightStar Care was founded in 2002 to deliver high-quality compassionate care in the home. In 2006, the brand began offering franchise opportunities. Today, there are 360 independently owned and operated locations nationwide.

Over the years, the franchise strategically expanded into four brands. These include:

  • BrightStar Home Care: As the flagship brand, it addresses the needs of those seeking to age in place, recovering from short-term medical needs or managing chronic conditions. While specializing in senior care, its services extend to infants, children and adults of all ages.
  • BrightStar Senior Living: Catering to individuals ready to transition from home maintenance, the Senior Living Communities offer assisted living and memory care. Ideal for those requiring moderate assistance or dealing with Alzheimer’s or dementia, the nurse-led care in a home-like environment provides tailored support.
  • BrightStar Care Homes: Care Homes offer a personalized approach in neighborhood-like settings for eight to 12 residents. Boasting a 1:6 staff-to-resident ratio, these homes, though currently limited, aim to expand nationally. Residents enjoy made-to-order meals, personalized furnishings and a homey atmosphere.
  • BrightStar Medical Staffing: Providing staffing solutions for health care facilities, the brand fills clinical and administrative roles on a per diem, temporary, contract or permanent basis. National services include insurance assessments; IV infusion therapy; home health; and flu clinic services for corporate, commercial and retail clients.

What Is the BrightStar Care Business Model?

The BrightStar Care business model is designed to help professionals without prior health care experience deliver quality care. The franchise support team at BrightStar Care offers multifaceted assistance, with a Clinical Quality team dedicated to providing caregivers with top-notch training programs. Field coaches, equipped with specialized training, also work closely with franchisees to drive continual business improvement.

Franchisees benefit from multiple revenue streams because, in addition to delivering care to patients one-on-one in their homes, the franchise also provides care in other settings. Services include adult care, elder care, child care and medical staffing services for individuals, families and health care facilities. Notably, health care businesses in the community frequently reach out to BrightStar Care for help with staffing. The franchise provides personnel to hospitals, nursing homes, doctors’ offices, labs and anywhere health care staff is needed.

BrightStar Care franchisees also benefit from patients referred by the franchise’s network of National Account partners. With many health care providers looking for skilled providers to serve patients in their homes, BrightStar Care is an ideal partner thanks to its nationwide recognition and our franchisees’ Joint Commission Accreditation. National Account services range from insurance assessments and IV infusion therapy to home health (in addition to delivering flu clinic services to corporate, commercial and retail patients).
