Special Strong is an inclusive gym franchise concept that offers expert adaptive fitness training for children, adolescents and adults dealing with mental, physical and cognitive difficulties. That includes autism, down syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, paraplegia, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. The concept competes in the $82 billion alternative healthcare industry, which is exploding in popularity throughout the country.

How Many Special Strong Locations Are There?

The Special Strong brand was founded in 2016 by certified trainer Daniel Stein and his wife, Trinity. After conquering a learning disability, a mood disorder and an autoimmune disease through exercise, Daniel felt he had a calling. At the time, it was only one of the only fitness centers in the country for individuals with mental, physical and cognitive challenges.

Today, Special Strong continues to specialize in adaptive and inclusive fitness training with seven locations across Texas and Arizona. Looking ahead, the brand has plans of reaching more customers across the United States through franchising.

What Is a Special Strong Business Model?

Special Strong is a low-cost, home-based business opportunity. Franchisees are able to provide adaptive fitness services to clients without the need for a brick-and-mortar studio or expensive gym equipment.

You don't need any previous experience to get started. This franchise is designed to cater to fitness enthusiasts and individuals with disabilities. Our unique Special Strong University program ensures that our franchisees undergo extensive training—over 100 hours—which combines face-to-face and practical, hands-on training. By the conclusion of the training, you will be a certified personal trainer (NCCA-accredited) and an adaptive fitness specialist.

With the requisite approval, the primary owner has the option to run the business in a semi-absentee mode, appointing a full-time general manager to supervise the daily business operations. Owning a semi-absentee business presents the opportunity to supplement your current income sources and accumulate equity, all the while maintaining your regular job.
