Griswold, a leading non-medical, in-home senior care franchise with over 170 locations in the U.S., is setting its sights on Charlotte, North Carolina, for its next growth chapter. This decision comes amidst the city's rapidly expanding senior population and Griswold's previous successes in the state.

“North Carolina has been a promising market for us,” said Steven Turner, COO of Griswold. “Given the influx of seniors and veterans retiring in Charlotte, known for its vibrant, cost-effective living, we believe it's the perfect place for our next franchise."

Charlotte has been named a top place to retire in North Carolina by U.S. News & World Report. The Charlotte metropolitan area is one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the country, and North Carolina itself is one of the nation’s fastest-growing states

Additionally, Griswold has already proven to be a great fit for the state, as it currently has eight successful locations — Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Burlington, Raleigh, Wake Forest, Morrisville, Pinehurst, Asheville and Wilmington — and the capacity for five more.

Bruce McReynolds, the Griswold franchisee in Greensboro, has seen an impressive 29% increase in revenue over the past year, for example. “We are realizing strong economic growth in North Carolina, and the state does tend to be a good fit for senior care in terms of geography — it is a hub for older adults who want to move to a climate-neutral area,” he said.

After three decades in senior retail management, McReynolds joined Griswold in 2012. The move was influenced by both personal and professional reasons.

“I knew there was a huge need for senior health and wellness,” said McReynolds. “Owning my own franchise seemed to be a really good fit for me because of my operational background and human resource background. I knew I'd be able to recruit caregivers and help offer a quality service. At the time, I had just turned 50 and my parents were in their 70’s, so the concept really aligned with where I was in life. When I met the team at Griswold, I really fell in love with their mission and saw that there was a chance to help those in need.”

With over 40 years in the sector, Griswold is America's pioneering non-medical home care franchise. AARP reports by the year 2040, about 20% of the population will be 65 years or older. The Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA) also reports there will be 27 million people in need of long-term care by 2050, double the number who required these services in 2000. Griswold offers care plans customized to fit each client that can also be adjusted as their needs change over time. The home care services include homemakingpersonal carecompanion carehospice care supportrespite carelive-in overnight care and more.

McReynolds champions the Griswold brand as an opportunity for those looking to establish a profitable business while making a tangible community impact. Since signing on with the brand, McReynolds has ingrained himself in the Greensboro community, including partnerships with North Carolina foundations like The Triad Retirement Living AssociationAdult Children of Aging Parents and Meals on Wheels

“One of my strong beliefs is giving back to the community, and I’ve really learned that giving is a big part of the brand,” he said. “I’ve realized that the more you give, the more you get back. We’ve always really tried to set ourselves apart by saying ‘yes’ to charitable opportunities.”

Now, compassionate, empathetic individuals in Charlotte have the opportunity to follow McReynolds’ lead and make an impact on people in their community. Griswold is gearing up for strategic growth throughout the country and is continuing to seek qualified entrepreneurs in North Carolina and beyond.

“For over 40 years, we’ve remained at the forefront of the home care industry and have been setting the industry standard as we expand across the country,” said Turner. “Now more than ever, there are people in need throughout every community, and our franchise opportunity allows passionate entrepreneurs to provide that helping hand while also building a bright future for themselves.”

Franchise opportunities range from $95,850 to $174,100 including a $49,500 franchise fee. For more information about franchising with Griswold, please visit https://www.griswoldhomecare.com/franchising/investment-info/.
