Impossible Foods’ Grocery Store Debut Makes Meatless Mondays More Convenient

Watch out Beyond Meat––Impossible Foods could be coming for the plant-based meat crown.

Impossible Foods has been making headlines recently in the QSR restaurant sector with Burger King’s Impossible Whopper and White Castle’s Impossible Sliders. Now, you don’t need to dine-in at a restaurant to get a taste of the infamous fake meat because Impossible Foods is officially selling its plant-based burger in grocery stores, according to Quartz.

Plant-based meat is no stranger to grocery stores. Beyond Meat, a fellow faux meat producer, has been serving its plant-based products in grocery stores since May of 2016. While Impossible Foods has been focusing on dominating the restaurant market, it’s now ready to get its grocery game on.

Impossible Foods plans to “roll out [its offering] first to 27 Gelson’s grocery stores in California, and has promised news of more expansion in the coming months,” the article states. Customers will be able to purchase a 12-ounce package of the plant-based meat for $9, while its competitor, Beyond Meat, sells an 8-ounce package for $5.99

Fans of the plant-based burger will now be able to experience the Impossible Burger in the comfort of their own kitchens. Meatless Mondays just got  a lot better.
