The North Carolina Triangle, specifically Raleigh,  has been growing rapidly in the past few years. Because of this influx of new residents, more and more businesses are opening in the area. Craig Murray, Chief Development Officer of the early childhood education franchise with over 140 units nationwide, Lightbridge Academy, sees the growth potential that a city like Raleigh can offer businesses, especially franchise brands.

“We’re seeing [Raleigh] as a younger environment with younger families coming into the market,” Murray said. “For [Lightbridge Academy], our focus is on year-round educational child care programs that range from infants to pre-K. But holistically, for franchising, it's a new market and new venture that brands are moving into.”

Murray advises anyone considering opening a small business to do their due diligence. The Raleigh area is a great market for new businesses, but there is only so much space for certain industries in any city. Lightbridge Academy has several franchisees operating the Triangle that have found success because they are working with the brand, the local community and the local municipalities.
