A recent article from Franchise Times makes the case that New Zealand is one of only a handful of nations to make the 2015 Edwards Global Services’ list of countries where franchising has the highest potential.
Despite its smaller size, New Zealand appears to be a superior bet for brands looking to expand Down Under. While the Times spotlighted Australia’s highly-regulated franchising environment, the news source quoted Transparency International as stating New Zealand has “less need for due diligence” and “lower contracting costs.”
While there are certainly less Kiwis to sell to than Australians, the country’s embrace of franchises puts in on par with the U.S. and Canada as a location for franchise potential.
