Mashable: Walmart Introduces Free 2-Day Shipping With No Membership Fee

While Amazon’s two-day shipping platform is available with an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $99 a year, Walmart announced that it will also offer two-day shipping - but at no extra cost. To qualify for two-day shipping, the order must be at least $35. With Prime, customers most have to spend a minimum of $50 to qualify for two-day shipping for free.

“In today's world of e-commerce, two-day free shipping is table stakes. It no longer makes sense to charge for it,” said Marc Lore, president and CEO of Walmart U.S. "We are moving at the speed of a startup. Two-day free shipping is the first of many moves we will be making to enhance the customer experience and accelerate growth.”
