Constant Contact was initially founded as Roving Software by Randy Parker in 1995 in Brookline, Massachusetts, and was renamed to Constant Contact in 2004. Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, the brand has acquired numerous companies, including e2m Systems, NutshellMail, Bantam Live, CardStar and SinglePlatform. In 2021, Constant Contact acquired the marketing automation and CRM system SharpSpring.

Constant Contact is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, and has offices in Loveland, Colorado and New York, New York.

In 2015, Constant Contact was acquired for $1.1 billion by Endurance International and then acquired by private equity firm Clearlake Capital Group in 2021.
