There was no lack of interesting headlines in 2015. The world was introduced to Caitlyn Jenner, CBS said goodnight to The Late Show with David Letterman, and two free spirited llamas darted through an Arizona retirement community.

This year may have been interesting for pop culture, but looking back on 2015, the franchise industry saw a plethora of concepts pop up and experience success.

Steve Beagelman, a franchise industry veteran of more than 25 years, has held positions ranging from entrepreneur to senior level executive gaining insight on how to help grow, operate and build brands. In 2009, Steve established SMB Franchise Advisors*, a consulting company specializing in advising franchise start-ups and existing franchise concepts of ways to drive business growth.

"In 2015, we saw an explosion with brands in the health and wellness industry, as well as brands specializing in concepts that appeal to consumers on the high end," Beagelman said. "There were many innovative brands of 2015 and I am intrigued to see what is in store for 2016."

The following are some of the most innovative brands of 2015.

GYMGUYZ
People want to remain healthy and fit, even with their hectic schedules. GYMGUYZ is making that possible. Headquartered in Plainview, New York, bringing their premier health and wellness services to the comfort of a customer’s home, office, or setting of choice. Founded in 2008 by fitness specialist Josh York, the mobile brand employs a full fleet of trucks to bring state-of-the-art fitness equipment and expert coaches to customers’ doors.

Scout & Molly's
Who doesn’t want to be a fashionista? Scout & Molly’s launched in 2002 and is the dream of entrepreneur Lisa Kornstein. Through franchising, Scout & Molly’s can become a reality for more entrepreneurs by providing business owners a proven system, real estate assistance, inventory and purchasing control, technology, and general retail operations and training.

Mac and Cheese Franchise Concept
Macaroni and cheese was a staple food in nearly everyone’s childhood, and now it’s becoming the ideal franchise concept. Elbows Mac n' Cheese is a place where high quality ingredients are a priority and service standards meet those of the best restaurants, according to the company’s website.

Acai Bowls
"There has been a huge interest in Acai Bowls over the past year. Long Island Super Bowls is one of the first in the industry to start franchising and to launch franchises in Q1," said Beagelman.

Pampering Concepts
K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel is an award winning, No.1 rated pet care facility in a booming category.

Now, caring for your furry loved one is nice, but what about the men in our lives? According to the Grooming Lounge website, it's its first location opened in Washington, D.C., and is the first of its kind to offer an array of upscale men's hair, shaving and spa services in a decidedly masculine and professional atmosphere.
