Supermarket operator Hy-Vee is adapting to consumer shopping and eating habits with its latest announcements. According to a <a href="http://www.nrn.com/operations/hy-vee-announces-burger-restaurant-rollout-fitness-partnership?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=nations-restaurant-news-hy-vee-announces-burger-restaurant-rollout-fitness-partnership-2703979" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">recent Nation&rsquo;s Restaurant News article</a>, the company will build and operate 26 Wahlburger restaurants, which would make the brand the largest franchisee of the burger chain. Earlier this week, Hy-Vee also introduced a new partnership with Orangetheory Fitness that would connect group fitness programs to Hy-Vee stores creating a one-stop shop for wellness.

&ldquo;These unprecedented collaborations reinforce our company&rsquo;s longstanding commitment to health and wellness, culinary expertise and customer experience,&rdquo; said Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee&rsquo;s chairman, president and CEO. &ldquo;However, they also represent a bold step to deliberately evolve our business to meet the change in our customers&rsquo; lifestyles and spending habits. These partnerships keep us on the leading edge as the retail grocery industry evolves.&rdquo;

Hy-Vee currently has $9.8 billion in annual sales and operates in the Midwest mostly with 240 supermarkets open. The Twin Cities will open the first Hy-Vee&nbsp;with Orangetheory Fitness location later in 2017.
