New App Lets Customers Customize Music at Restaurants

By JORDAN BRANDES We live in the age of customization. Franchises such as Chipotle, Five Guys, Toppers and Wing Zone, all specialize in making the dining experience as individualized as possible. Now, consumers can not only choose their meal, but their background music, as well, using a new Google app called Roqbot. Released earlier this year, Roqbot allows customers to tap into the background music library at each restaurant using a voting system to choose which song will be played next. Customers can only select from songs authorized by the owners of the establishment giving both the owner and consumer control of the dining experience. "We want to provide as many ways as possible to give you the perfect playlist for your customers," said Garrett Dodge, co-creator of the application.
