Randy and Susan Price have recently expanded their profile with Right at Home*, going from one territory to three in North Texas. From age 12, Randy Price had always been businessman, owning a lawn care business and hiring his first employee when he was 14. Price realized he had a natural talent for the business world. The native Texan graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in economics with an emphasis in accounting. Directly out of school, Price began his career as an independent insurance agent for Price Financial Service. Price added to his entrepreneurial career when he founded and developed The Price Company, a commercial and residential landscaping company. The skills he built in his eponymous company led him to many other opportunities. For 10 years, Price served as a partner and the vice president of operations at Van Tone Companies Inc., where he managed all operations, including manufacturing, finances, purchasing, distribution, inventory, quality control, HR, accounting, legal and safety. At the conclusion of his career with Van Tone, Price went on to serve as executive vice president at Homemade Gourmet Inc., where he managed all production, distribution, purchasing, inventory and quality control during the highest growth year in the company's history. With his extensive business background, Price never took franchising into consideration until he read an article in the New York Times, which highlighted Right at Home. Soon after, he began his research on the senior in-home care industry and quickly realized the need for in-home care for seniors. Liking what he saw, Price researched a variety of companies and knew his next career move sat with Right at Home. Elected to be on the Franchisor Advisory Board, the Prices want to spearhead the expansion on Right at Home throughout Texas, hoping to add two more over the next two years in Mount Pleasant and Nacogdoches, Texas. Randy and Susan’s first location became the fastest-growing Right at Home franchise in the country as well as one of the largest in-home senior-care providers in terms of size. The addition of these new territories allows the Prices to cover an area that is larger than three Northeastern states put together. How did you find out about Right at Home? Actually, I was reading the New York Times and saw an article Right at Home was featured in.  I started doing my research and really liked what I saw. I knew this was something there was a demand for and wanted to try my luck with it. Why did you choose an opportunity with Right at Home? We realized this was the correct choice for us from our interview with corporate. We had a better feel for it, and we really respected the culture and how corporate was organized. What personal experience do you have in your own family with caring for a senior? My father had Alzheimer’s, and seeing my sisters step in and help really showed me the value and importance of the amount of work that goes into in-home care. We ensure all of our staff and caregivers really give from the heart and think of our clients as if they were their parents.
