1851 previously spotlighted the parody Twitter account inspired by Philly Pretzel Factory’s Tim Tebow pretzel. While certainly not unheard of on the Internet, parody accounts for franchise brands remain a strange and wholly modern phenomenon.

However, none may be stranger than Nihilist Arby’s.

Yes, you read that correctly; there is a parody Twitter account for Arby’s that incorporates a love for roast beef sandwiches with the belief that life is meaningless.

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of nihilism outside of the odd “The Big Lebowski” quote, allow me to cite heavily from the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy:

“Nihilism is the belief that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated. It is often associated with extreme pessimism and a radical skepticism that condemns existence. A true nihilist would believe in nothing, have no loyalties, and no purpose other than, perhaps, an impulse to destroy.”

As pointed out by the folks at Kitchenette, it's the perfect world outlook for a quick-service sandwich chain!

I highly doubt Arby’s is thrilled with the content of this particular Twitter account, but the persona is catching on, being shared on various blogs and across social media. Putting the Arby’s name out there has got to count for something, right?
