Online-Ordering App Waitr Launches in 20 New Cities

The ordering and delivering platform is now operating in more than 230 cities across the U.S.

On Tuesday, mobile application Waitr announced its expansion into 20 additional U.S. cities. Like other ordering and delivery apps Grubhub, Doordash and Uber Eats, Waitr partners with restaurants to provide a third-party online ordering and delivery platform.

The expansion primarily targeted Southern cities, including cities in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Louisiana. Wait is fully operational in each of the newly announced cities.

“Expansion into these exciting new cities allows us to further drive our strategic regional initiatives," Waitr founder and CEO Chris Meaux said in a press release. “By focusing on and specializing in these secondary and tertiary cities, we are able to bring the convenience of Waitr's online ordering and delivery platform to a large population of consumers who've yet to experience our best-in-class service. Customers in these areas can now order from our network of restaurant partners and have a delicious meal delivered from their favorite local restaurant.”

Wait now has more than 6,200 restaurant partners in more than 230 cities across the U.S.
