Visitors out for a holiday adventure today in NYC’s Times Square may just find themselves the recipients of a complimentary grilled cheese thanks to Kraft, according to an article in Ad Age.

In an effort to stave off hunger-fueled tantrums from kids accompanying caretakers on last-minute shopping trips, the food and beverage company opted to hand out everyone’s favorite hot sandwich.

“It’s a new way for Kraft to promote its Kraft American Singles,” the article said. “For parents, it’s a way to avoid trying to soothe a child’s hangry-ness by ordering food from an overpriced-maybe-not-great-but-you’ll-take-it-because-it’s-nearby restaurant,” according to the article.

“To get the sandwiches, parents need to text CHZ to 797979 with their name, location, and the number of grilled cheese sandwiches needed,” the article said.

The offer is only available Thursday, Dec. 20 for visitors between Broadway, 7th Avenue, 42nd and 47th Streets, and runs from noon until 6 p.m.
