Opelika-Auburn News: Pita Pit reopens under new ownership; rebranding includes later hours, full-service delivery
The owners of the local Bowling Green Pita Pit named as the brand’s Franchisees of the Year.
In just ten days, the Pita Pit at Auburn University got a complete makeover, inside and out. New owners Jack Brighenti and Cody Ashworth recently bought the location, and decided it needed a facelift.
"It’s an older store, so it was just due for a complete remodel—paint job, interior, exterior," Brighenti told the Opelika-Auburn News.
Decor wasn't the only thing that got an upgrade; Brighenti and Ashworth also added exciting new menu items.
They're excited to introduce the Tiger Club, a turkey, bacon and avocado pita, to the Auburn University community. Also, new pita toppings will include avocado slices, roasted red pepper hummus, Pico de Gallo, cilantro and pepper jack cheese.
The location will be open until 3 a.m. on weekdays and 4 a.m. on weekends to provide students with healthy, late-night options.
"We know a lot of students will be up pretty late at night studying, so we want to be able to feed them," Brighenti said in his interview the Opelika-Auburn News.
The location has already hired ten new employees in the past few months and is looking to grow even more.
