Paris Baguette, a bakery cafe with more than 4,000 locations around the globe, plans to open its 100th U.S. location in 2021 and is committed to an aggressive expansion strategy focused on adding 1,000 domestic locations to its footprint.

“Our research went deep into the community, ensuring that our brand positioning was designed to fill important gaps,” said Pete Bell, chief marketing officer with the brand. “People crave food brands that ignite all senses and ultimately bring them great joy. In order to get to 1,000 locations, we have to give the guest something they are not used to in their communities. We are confident we can fill that gap with our elevated neighborhood cafe concept.”

Many customers want an elevated neighborhood cafe, as big brands in the space seem to have lost interest in the idea fostering a sense of community. Some of Paris Baguette’s competitors chose to shrink  their bakery spaces considerably, and instead are using partially baked doughs and breads shipped in on trucks and offering a sprawling, mix-and-match menu where baked goods are an afterthought. 

Paris Baguette saw this as an opportunity to rise above that trend.

Today, Paris Baguette is a top-shelf bakery cafe with old-world technique poured into delicious seasonal offerings. Paris Baguette has engineered an operations model that allows it to bake in-house without cutting corners.
