The Tennessee Tribune: Pollo Campero Targeting Tennessee for Growth

The Central American chicken franchise is looking to bring 15 new restaurants to Tennessee over the next 10 years.

Pollo Campero, the Central American chicken franchise with 90 units across the U.S. and another 270 worldwide, is growing its U.S. presence with expansion in Tennessee. The brand sees an opportunity to open 15 restaurants across the state over the next decade, and it is targeting Pigeon Forge, Clarksville and Murfreesboro for this growth.

With an influx of immigrants from Central America, Tennessee offers an attractive market with a strong base of legacy guests and an opportunity to introduce Campero meals to new, curious guests.

“I know people from Huntsville will travel all the way to Nashville to consume our product,” Blas Escarcega, vice president of franchise development, told The Tennessee Tribune. “Our goal is to get it as conveniently and as close as possible, and that’s going to take time and we recognized that, but we have invested in our infrastructure and our platform.”
