As professionals in the pool care space, Pool Scouts knows just how important pool safety is. In honor of Water Safety Month this May, the 110-unit pool cleaning and maintenance franchise is partnering with Hope Floats Foundation to raise awareness and provide swimming lessons for families in need.

For the third year in a row, Pool Scouts franchise locations that opt in to the campaign across the United States will donate $1 dollar for each service performed during Water Safety Month to provide scholarships through Hope Floats Foundation. In 2022, the brand raised over $16,000, enough to cover 800 swim lessons all over the United States.

This year, Pool Scouts is setting an ambitious goal to almost double last year's contribution and raise over $30,000. In order to reach this goal, the brand will be encouraging its customers to join in the cause by also giving $1 per service in the month of May.

“We are incredibly honored to partner with Hope Floats Foundation again this year,” said Michael Wagner, president of Pool Scouts. “Water Safety Month is an important initiative for us to align ourselves with. We have the opportunity to educate our customers, all of whom are pool owners, about key initiatives that can keep them, their families and their friends safe while enjoying their pools and water activities.”

Hope Floats Foundation partners with swim schools to provide scholarships for swimming lessons for children living in poverty. The organization raises money by partnering with individuals, businesses and foundations that want to be a force for good in their communities.  Scholarships and tuition assistance are provided to children who might not otherwise be able to afford swim lessons.

According to the CDC, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages four and under in the United States, and the second leading cause in children under 14. Notably,  lower socioeconomic status is associated with higher risk of drowning. Participation in formal swim lessons reduces risk of drowning by 88%. The money raised by Pool Scouts and Hope Floats Foundation will change the lives of families around the country and provide parents and caregivers with peace of mind that their kids are safe near the water.

“Hope Floats Foundation is a partnership of caring businesses, individuals and swim schools that give back to the community and make a difference by saving lives every day through the life-saving gift of swimming,” said Cindy Tonnesen, Hope Floats Founder.

National Water Safety Month takes place annually throughout the entire month of May, right before the peak of swimming and other water-related recreational activities during the summer season. It is a national campaign designed to raise awareness and educate people about the importance of being safe in and around water.

The start-up costs for a Pool Scouts franchise range from $87,490 to $109,625. To learn more about franchising with Pool Scouts, visit https://poolscoutsfranchise.com/.
