Pool Scouts Franchisees Are Seeing Multiple Revenue Streams Through the Introduction of New PoolCare+ Services

Pool Scouts franchisees can now offer an expanded range of services through PoolCare+, including pool vinyl liner replacements, pool-cover installations, pool resurfacing, tile work, and more.

Pool Scouts, the 65-unit pool cleaning franchise, is providing its franchisees with new streams of revenue through its new PoolCare+ services. Pool Scouts owners now have the opportunity to offer their customers an expanded range of services, including vinyl liner replacements, pool resurfacing, tile repair and installation, coping services, safety cover replacements and screen enclosure repairs.

The PoolCare+ program will provide extensive training for advanced Pool Scouts technicians  to provide additional services on their own as well as establishing relationships with fully-vetted subcontractors and Scout Approved referral partners.

The addition of PoolCare+ opens up the doors to more customers and more opportunities. Gordy Johnson of Pool Scouts Of Virginia Beach - Norfolk was among the first to implement the service, and he is already seeing the benefits after a few months.

“So far, it’s been really good,” Johnson said. “We installed 15 safety covers in our first year, so that was a huge advantage for us and added around an extra $50,000 in revenue that we originally didn't have.”

Newer franchisees — like Russell Burton, who opened his Pool Scouts location in South Carolina last year — also appreciates the addition, seeing how it can benefit their customers.

“When we were introduced to the fact that we could replace pool liners, that was very interesting to me,” said Burton. “It’s a higher level of service that we can provide our customers.”

Training and Support for PoolCare+

As PoolCare+ is taking off in more locations, the franchise has been implementing training programs to expand the services across the system and to new franchisees. The training is led by Trent Rountree, field operations manager for Pool Scouts.

“We've been going around to our markets and conducting three-to-five day training classes and doing actual pool vinyl liner and safety cover installs,” said Rountree. “We start off with a classroom scenario and a PowerPoint lesson that goes over the measurements and how to take them — the tools that are included in doing the job, as well as the products. Then we actually go out into the field and install those products with the class.”

Once the initial field training is complete, franchisees will continue to receive ongoing support from corporate. Roundtree leads a team who provides immediate support for any questions or concerns they may have. Additionally, Pool Scouts leverages support from our vendors for covers and liners, who attend the classes and assist in teaching.

Expanding PoolCare+

So far, PoolCare+ services have been rolled out at 34 Pool Scouts locations in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Texas and select locations in Florida.

The franchise is actively working towards expanding it across all markets.

“Our goal is to find partners in all the markets we service,” said Pool Scouts President Michael Wagner in an interview with PoolPro. “We have proposals for approximately 100 jobs.”
