Pro Martial Arts franchisee Nicole Dore has a passion for education, and it was in her role as an elementary school teacher that she discovered something: Children who take martial arts tend to be better students.

“I teach a bunch of different ages and I was talking to a friend about how the kids in martial arts are the nicest, most respectful, most responsible kids,” Dore told the Waterloo Chronicle.

So when she and her husband were on the hunt for a franchise, Dore naturally gravitated toward Pro Martial Arts.

She also highlighted how martial arts is catering to two current concerns: head injuries and bullying. Fewer parents want to send their kids off to football practice due to worries about injuries, and martial arts is giving children the tools they need to defend themselves from bullying.
