QSR Magazine: Curry Up Now Buys Indian Fast Casual Tava Kitchen

Bay Area- based Curry Up Now buys Tava Kitchen to expand the availability of Indian food across the country.

Curry Up Now has acquired the fast-casual Indian chain, Tava Kitchen. According to a recent QSR Magazine article, the buy was a strategic move to continue to expand. The brand has five stores, four food trucks and a craft cocktail bar as part of two locations in San Jose and San Mateo. To start, the Alameda location of Tava Kitchen will be converted and rebranded to Curry Up Now for the company to test and launch new menu items.

“While Curry Up Now has fast and fine-casual formats, as well as craft cocktail bars attached to our fine casual stores, Tava Kitchen was the first, true Indian quick service brand who figured out how to dish out amazing food in a standardized format. With this acquisition, we are confident that we will be able to combine our vision of Indian food and a fantastic guest experience to grow the Curry Up Now brand worldwide,” said Akash Kapoor, Curry Up Now CEO.

Joining forces is part of both brands’ mission to scale across the country and bring Indian food to the masses.
