QSR Magazine: Starbucks Being Sued Over its Unicorn Frappuccino

Multiple unicorn-themed drinks have caused a Brooklyn coffee shop to sue Starbucks.

Apparently, Starbucks wasn’t the first coffee shop to have a unicorn-themed drink after all. According to a recent QSR Magazine article, The End Brooklyn, a Brooklyn coffee shop, has filed a lawsuit against Starbucks for diluting its Unicorn Latte and causing damage to the shop’s most popular drink.

Last December, The End started to sell its Unicorn Latte that contains ingredients including cold-pressed ginger, dates, cashews, lemon juice, maca root and vanilla bean. Needless to say, this drink is much different than the sugar-filled, color-changing Frappuccino that took over social media created by Starbucks.

“We developed the Unicorn Latte as a healthy and delicious product. The Unicorn Latte has been the most popular product we’ve created to date, so we were shocked and disappointed when Starbucks came out with the Unicorn Frappuccino, which is similar to our product in name and appearance, but has none of its healthy ingredients,” said Bret Caretsky, co-owner of The End.

The Brooklyn coffee shop is asking for all profits from the Unicorn Frappuccino and for Starbucks to stop using the name.
