Right at Home, the in-home care and assistance franchise with more than 600 locations worldwide, offers a massive advantage to its franchisees as a large franchisor: the power to think and move strategically.

That is exactly what Kerin Zuger, Chief of Strategic Growth, does for Right at Home. Right at Home has been in the in-home care and assistance industry since 1995 and has built a stellar brand and reputation, but what separates this franchisor from others in the space is its scale and strategic plans with a focus on the long-term.

One great example of how strategic growth makes life easier for franchisees comes from the strategic partnerships the brand has formed, according to Zuger.

“When we talk about strategic growth, from my perspective, it has always involved the partnerships we’ve developed over time,” said Zuger. “We have a lot of national strategic partnerships that have been the catalyst on how we've continued to grow big time, scale the system and create a broad value proposition.”

How Right at Home’s Partnerships Create Additional Revenue Streams

That national reach and scope comes with the power of a big franchisor like Right at Home, and to the franchisee, it means more revenue streams through partnerships with big brands.

“We have seen great success with the partnerships we have established with home health organizations,” said Zuger. “We have national preferred partnerships with the three largest home health organizations in the United States.: Kindred, Encompass and Amedisys. We also have several home health partnerships on a local level that engage with our franchisees as well.”

Zuger has examined virtually every conceivable avenue to grow the brand, which now boasts a completely comprehensive suite of partnerships that keep the brand expanding and referring new services.

“We built a program called Right at Home Transportation that’s powered by either Uber or Lyft to assist with the transportation void we were seeing in many cases,” said Zuger. “We also launched a new service just last year that reviews clients’ homes to ensure there are no trip hazards, fall risks, mold in the basement, leaky faucets, and so much more.  Because we are a large, global system we are able to offer these services to our clients and their families at lower than normal rates.”

Right at Home’s wide range of partnerships in the technology space make it a comprehensive service that can provide for seniors in their own homes 24/7. The result is preventing vulnerable seniors from ending up in the hospital and keeping them safe at home.

“We can use technology not just to save a senior if tragedy strikes, but actually to try to prevent the tragedy,” said Zuger. “With things like sensors, monitors, cameras, wearables or purse units, we’re able to predict when care will be needed. Even short of tragedy, we can use technology to keep seniors engaged and avoid feeling isolated, something that was a big challenge during the pandemic. We’re using technology to provide better mental health care, which is a big deal.”

What Right at Home’s Partnerships Mean For Franchisees

Franchising with Right at Home promises something independent home care businesses can’t: stability. With so many opportunities and such rapid growth in the space, it’s no wonder Right at Home has become a solid investment valued by so many entrepreneurs.

“Not only have we weathered the storm through the pandemic and supported our franchisees through thick and thin, it gave us the opportunity to improve our franchisee support,” said Zuger. “I think that that is really important to note. Everybody knows about the opportunity within the senior space, but what people often don't acknowledge is the blood, sweat and tears it takes to really build this business. Right at Home has put in that hard work, and now being the second largest in the world frankly means we’re positioned to continue to grow and scale while our owners continue to thrive.”
