With Right at Home, the 650-plus location in-home health care concept helping seniors and adults with disabilities live comfortably at home, franchisees have the opportunity to grow their own business while meeting demand for quality in-home health care services across the country.

One franchisee who has done just that is Randy Price, who owns Right at Home of Northeast Texas. Price has been growing with the brand since 2009, and the franchisee has picked up three new territories in the last year and half alone.

Before franchising, Price and his wife spent their time serving and helping people, having spent several years in Mexico. Looking for another opportunity to serve, the couple discovered Right at Home

“I was drawn to the culture of Right at Home,” said Price. “It was a great fit for me and my wife’s hearts drawn to service. We saw the fast-growing need for care for elderly and disabled people in Northeast Texas, and there weren't any Right at Homes in the area. For 14 plus years now, we’ve had a really great experience and have loved serving our community.”

And the hard work has paid off. Recently, Right at Home of Northeast Texas won several awards from the prestigious Home Care Pulse including 2023 Home Care Provider of Choice and Home Care Employer of Choice.

Why Price Continues to Expand with Right at Home

In addition to the ability to serve people, Price noted how the Right at Home model has set him up for success. “There's a huge focus on growing and being able to equip each owner with insight and feedback,” he said.

Matt Blocker, President of Right at Home Northeast Texas, has been working with Price since 2016 and knows firsthand how much the support from the corporate team has impacted the success of the company.

“The franchise system is really set up to help you win,” he said. “They do a great job of connecting us with other franchisees, too. There’s performance meetings, both nationally and in Texas, that are a huge help. You get to see different ways that owners are finding success. It challenges you and helps generate bright ideas.”

Price and Blocker pointed out how Right at Home allows franchisees some freedom to meet the specific needs of their community. For Northeast Texas, this has meant having the ability to have features such as a skilled license and being certified by the Joint Commission, which is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.

“You're able to meet your community’s needs,” said Blocker. “Factors such as state regulations for how you can hire caregivers, demographics, and more all play a role in your growth model and how you’re able to bring on clients. We've really focused on being the premium service — we want to be the very best.”

Defining Success

For Price, the greatest part of franchising with Right at Home has always been helping people.

“Whether it's a client themselves, a family member, or our caregivers, it’s all about helping people and administering to people,” he said. “That’s the biggest win ever, and it happens all the time — which is really gratifying. It’s what keeps us motivated.”

He added that not only does Right at Home touch the lives of its clients, but it has a huge impact on the lives of their family members who otherwise would have had to find other solutions for their loved ones. “It’s amazing to see how people go from being hesitant to so grateful to be working with a caregiver,” he said.

Blocker noted that one of Right at Home’s philosophies is “adding life to the years that you have.” Meaning that the person who may not have been able to get out of their chair, “is now able to go back to doing the things that they enjoy with our help.”

“With a caregiver, people are able to go back on walks, they're able to go back to church, they're able to go to the movies, and even just go to the bathroom safely,” he said. “Giving that peace of mind to people and their families has been the biggest definition of success.”
