Right at Home has opened a franchise in Southeast Washington. Franchisees Adam Loomis and Shana Duncan see their work with the brand as an opportunity to help others. Their inspiration behind their selection of Right at Home as their next business venture is a personal one.

After Adam’s grandmother lived in her home for a large portion of her life, his family was forced to bring her to an assisted living home – a decision that they never wanted to make.

“She’d lived in her home for more than 50 years,” Loomis told the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business. “If my family would havehad the resources to have her at her house, or the means or ability to have a caretaker there, they would have. Unfortunately, they couldn’t.”

It was this that motivated Loomis and Duncan to work with Right at Home. The couple said they researched for an opportunity that could make living situations better for individuals like Loomis’ grandmother, and immediately were drawn to Right at Home.

Now, they will be able to help locals and provide care specific to their needs in their own homes where they are most comfortable.

“If they’re looking for a companion, we’re going to look at the caregivers in our system who know how to play bridge,” Duncan told the Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business. “Or maybe they need someone who has an expertise in Alzheimer and Dementia care. Through custom-care plans, we’ll carefully match our caregivers with clients.”
