Shutdown 2018: Washington, D.C. Restaurants Offering Deals to Government Workers

Be prepared to show your official government ID.

The shutdown continues, and some Washington, D.C. eating establishments are offering deals and even freebies to government workers, according to a Restaurant Business report.

Of course, those government workers who now have some extra free time on their hands will want to make sure they call the dining establishment ahead of time to verify exactly when the deals will be available. The article noted that local media differ on the timeframes during which certain deals and freebies will be offered at, for example, fast-casual pizza chain &pizza.

Freebies are being offered at establishments such as Beefsteak, District Doughnut and Carmine’s, to name a few, and discounts are being offered at Ornery Beer Co. and The Old Vic, among others, according to the article.
